This treatment involves temporally removing the surface layer (epithelium) off the cornea and then applying the laser to reshape the cornea. The surface is then allowed to heal with a contact lens in place for a few days.
With PRK/LASEK it takes a little longer for vision to recover than with iLASIK. At 2-4 weeks the vision is equal with either procedure
Both PRK/LASEK and iLASIK have identical visual results at 3 months post laser.
